For all the GOSH mothers

The Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity approached me at the beginning of the year asking me to write something for them. As Mother’s Day was approaching, I decided to write something for the mothers keeping vigil at their child’s bedside in the hospital. It was written a year after Dominic’s 8 month long admission and represents one of the last times the charity associated itself with me. Shortly afterwards someone realised that I had been quite open and honest about the highs and lows of our time within GOSH on this blog and the charity removed all links to Just Bring the Chocolate from the guest post I’d written for them and ceased to used Dominic in their publicity campaigns. Whilst it was a rather cynical conclusion to what was meant to be a heartfelt message, it doesn’t change my feelings about what I wrote, which is why I have chosen to link to it from here. So here is something for all the GOSH mothers…
