Undiagnosed Children’s Day 2014- The official video

Published on 24th Apr 2014 by Renata

undiagnosed children's day 2014

For once I am going to take an uncharacteristically minimalist approach to how many words I use to get to the point.

All I’ll say is that when I asked for my children’s help I was overwhelmed by how they all unquestioningly rallied to help me put this together. They are just as proud of the finished product as I am and so they should be as I’m sure you’ll see how much work they put in to helping make it as wonderful as it is.

Tomorrow is Undiagnosed Children’s Day and I would love to show the kids how much of an impact they have made. So please take the time to enthuse about the video to anyone who’ll listen to you and help us get it shared as much as possible. We need to reach as many people as we possibly can, but can only do it with your help.

Thank you Maartje, they’re amazing aren’t they. All the kids can out-dance most adults I know!

That is so cool. I defy anyone not to smile all the way through. All the kids are absolutely brilliant. Well done.

What Leah says. What a video. All too wonderful to single out any part of it and its production.

It is about happy; and undiagnosis can obstruct happy, in oh so many ways. Got that.

      24th Apr 2014 at 2:36 pm

      Thank you Colin

Amazing! Gorgeous video Renata, you’ve done an absolutely brilliant job with it. Have shared around a few friends who I know will cry the same happy tears I did when they watch such a celebration xxx

Thank you Ruth. Any help you can give sharing it is hugely appreciated!

That’s fantastic Renata, some pretty impressive dance moves too 😉 xx

    1. Renata says:
      24th Apr 2014 at 2:38 pm

It’s genetic you know. They were born with funk! You should see me bopping around when I hoover, not our normal mum-dancing

The video left me feeling that the dynamic bond and relation and interaction between who you are and who Dominic is and is becoming, is crucial and central. It’s as if your part in things sees Dominic dance, despite what might otherwise have seen him not. It’s then interesting that GOSH has to turn away the honesty of what makes you who you are. Also makes sense that, by extension, your are not overwhelmed by “like”-button expressions of awareness. There would then seem to be much more to be conveyed, about what it is that makes you tick; and about how your life-force and vibrance nurtures such beauty and vibrance in Dominic.

This is soooooo good! You had us laughing out loud. Such a good vid.

Dom, your future career in acting is a dead cert!
Eliott – hip hop is so you.
And Lilia – the Wicked Witch of the North (or is it South) would kill for those tights of yours….

And no surprises the music was from Despicable Me, eh? Love that song.

And now I know what you got up to in the Easter hols….

will share widely, Siobhan, Ciara & Sam, and Matt x

    1. Renata says:
      24th Apr 2014 at 2:39 pm

Yeah Lilia’s dress sense is uniquely her own. I love the fact that all the kids were so happy to throw themselves into doing it, even the teenagers!

    Hi Renata,

What a fabulous video, made me smile so much 🙂

Can’t believe how grown up Dominic is now, he is absolutely scrumptious, bless him.

Love to your lovely family xx

Freya and I have just watched it – Freya asked lots of questions and really wanted to know what it is like being a child without a diagnosis. The video really did its job. Brilliant. Well done to you and Dominic (and Elliot and Lilia too).

    1. Renata says:
      24th Apr 2014 at 9:16 pm

      That’s brilliant Mel 🙂

I never swear online, but Renata you are bloody bloomin’ brilliant. I have tears in my eyes, of pride to count you as a friends, but also at the very important message you have just portrayed perfectly. We will make this go viral….

If only Hayley… now that would be amazing!

This made me cry. Love it.

My daughter is now 10 months old and doctors dont know what syndrome she has. We have a feeling we will never find out. So thank you. Thank you for showing us parents too that sometimes we have to stop fighting.

    Love from The Netherlands.

    1. Renata says:
      28th Apr 2014 at 12:33 am

Don’t give up hope, but equally don’t let it overshadow who she really is. You know her better than anyone, that is her most valuable tool in life x

  17. Diane Blackmore says:

    Absolutely love your video

    1. Renata says:
      28th Apr 2014 at 12:35 am

Thank you, so do I (if that doesn’t sound too arrogant). I had to watch it hundreds of times to edit it, and it still had the same effect on me at the end of the editing as it did at the beginning. I love all those kids and parents for just going for it!

This appeared on my face book page under “Mommies of Miracles” newsfeed. I did not know such a group existed! Excellent video!!!!!!!!!!!
I am going to forward it to my face book friends but ESPECIALLY to a friend who has a beautiful 4 year old named Faith. Faith has numerous issues and yet the doctors can’t pin point what they can do to help. Hope this will be of interest to her as it was to me!

      28th Apr 2014 at 12:37 am

Thank you Cheryl. Finding other families with undiagnosed children is part and parcel of what raising awareness should be about. I hope that Faith and her family can find support by joining SWAN x
